Housebreaking Dog Techniques for Your Puppy

A new puppy is a lot of responsibility. Puppies, like babies, need a lot of care and attention. If your new puppy is an indoor dog, then you will need to house train him. Housebreaking dogs is not hard. It only takes time, patience, and consistency to achieve success in dog toilet training.

How do you housebreak a puppy? People choose different methods of house training. There are several housebreaking dog techniques that you can use for dog toilet training. Some owners use a kennel or play pen to aid in house training. If you use one of these devices, line the bottom with newspaper or puppy pads. Whenever you are not at home keep your new puppy in the kennel or playpen.

The first few weeks of dog toilet training your new puppy may be a little frustrating at times but you have to remember your puppy is a baby and needs to be taught.

Be sure there is newspaper or puppy pads accessible for your puppy to go on. Puppies generally need to go potty within 30 minutes of eating. Never hit your puppy. Reward your puppy with a treat whenever they go potty properly on the papers. Besides house training you are also establishing a loving trusting relationship with your new pet.

Consistency is the key in housebreaking dog training. Your puppy will learn quicker if there is a routine to follow. For more housebreaking dog training help, CLICK HERE.
